Our family set: something for everyone. There are (204) blocks, 3" x 2" x 1/2"; (6) planks, 12" x 2" x 1/2"; (12) planks, 6" x 2" x 1/2"; and (32) 1.5" cubes, all in a cardboard box. The blocks and planks are North American Beech, the cubes are North American birch. All have a beautiful wood grain.

Great for all ages and genders.
We have had the blocks for about a week and I had to put a limit on how much they get played with. My 11, 9, 7 and 3 year old all love them and can spend hours being creative in several different ways. It seemed like a lot of money at first but after seeing how much they have enjoyed these blocks it is definitely a great investment, one that spurs creativity, imagination, dexterity (for the little ones) and spacial skills to name a few. I loved the all natural wood smell that filled up our living room when we opened the box. Would definitely reccomend them.
